Muhammad Yunus Receives the Congressional Gold Medal In Recognition of his Efforts Toward Combating Global Poverty
Bangladeshi Nobel laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus received the Congressional Gold Medal, the US' highest civilian award, in recognition of his efforts toward combating global poverty. Yunus is only the seventh person in history to have won both the Congressional Gold Medal and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, another of the America's prestigious civilian awards.
