Hasan Minhaj is a comedian, actor, and writer in New York. Until recently, he was a correspondent on the Emmy and Peabody award-winning program The Daily Show. A featured storyteller for The Moth his work has garnered acclaim in film, web, and television.
In April 2017, Hasan was the featured speaker at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, where he took on the traditional role of roasting Washington, D.C. society, national politics, current events, the current president, the Washington press corps, and the American media.
Minhaj's one-man show, Homecoming King, debuted Off-Broadway in 2015. The show featured a central theme of the immigrant experience in the United States today, illustrated with stories from Minhaj's life as a first-generation Indian-American Muslim. He later turned the show into his first stand-up special, Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King, which premiered on Netflix in May 2017.
Hasan Minhaj was one of Jon Stewart's last hires on The Daily Show. Joining as a correspondent in late 2014, he's covered everything from Pope Francis' visit to the U.S., labor issues to negotiations with Iran, and become one it's most beloved and recognizable contributors.
In August 2018, Minhaj left The Daily Show to focus on a weekly comedy show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj on Netflix. It was a critical success and has been renewed with new shows to begin airing in February 2019.
