Nastia Liukin is a celebrated Olympic Champion, Sports Broadcaster and Motivational Speaker whose experiences as an elite gymnast helped fuel a lifelong passion for health and fitness. Now at 26, Nastia has perfected her balancing act as an empowering celebrity influencer with a personal brand that exudes confidence, grace and style. Her ultimate goal is to help women and girls of all ages be the best version of themselves every day.
As the daughter of two champion gymnasts, it was only natural that Nastia found a passion for the gym at a very young age. She began competing earlier than most and by the age of 12 was already considered an elite gymnast. Nastia parlayed her extraordinary athletic prowess into 5 Olympic Medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. She won Gold in the all-around competition, becoming 1 of only 5 U.S. women ever to do so. Her 5 Olympic Medals at the 2008 Games also tied Shannon Miller and Mary Lou Retton for the most medals in a single non-boycotted Olympic Games by any U.S. gymnast in history.
Following her incredible Olympic performance, MSNBC named Nastia the 2nd most marketable athlete around the same time that she appeared in Glamour Magazine as one of “The 11 Greatest Bodies on Earth." By years’ end, Nastia had received such honors as the Women's Sports Foundation's “Individual Sportswoman of the Year” and the United States Sports Academy’s “Female Athlete of the Year.” Nastia was also named “Best Female Athlete” at the 2009 ESPY Awards.
Nastia started her own gymnastic competition known as the Nastia Liukin Cup in 2010. The annual event held in the U.S. is open to level 10 gymnasts who qualify at designated competitions across the country each year. In addition to a number of appearances on major TV programs such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Nastia was a favorite contestant on the 20th season of ABC’s hit dance competition series Dancing with the Stars in 2015.
A graduate of New York University, Nastia has now made the transition from Olympic gymnast to brand spokesperson, sports broadcaster and motivational speaker. Nastia is focused on promoting healthy living for young women and her goal is to help fight teen obesity and inspire children and others to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
During the 2012 London Olympic Games, Nastia served as a special correspondent for NBC’s “The Today Show” and was hired as a featured analyst for NBC’s gymnastics coverage at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Nastia has created her own signature line of gymnastics leotards with GK/Elite Sportswear in addition to a line of gymnastics equipment with AAI. She currently works as a brand ambassador for Coca-Cola, Tula, Subway, Liberty Mutual, Caraa Sport, AAI and GK Elite.
